Jeffrey Landman is currently:
a lecturer at MIT, and lead designer at MDB.
Jeffrey was born in the U.K. He graduated from Brown University in 2011 with a degree in English Poetry and Architectural History. He maintained his own studio in New York City from 2012 to 2017, working as an artist, designer and fabricator. His sculpture broadly explored the material and spatial implications of certain poetic and historical refrains, and was exhibited in solo and group shows at Tracy Williams Ltd, and at the Museum of Arts and Design’s Maker’s Biennial in 2014. His design work ranged from off-broadway set-design to fine furniture and architectural millwork. He also collaborated with other artists, most notably with Christine Davis, on a free-standing pavilion structure for her work Knowledge of Life.
In 2021, Jeffrey received his M.Arch from M.I.T., where he was awarded the Floyd A. Naramore Scholarship, the Sydney B. Karofsky '37 Prize For an Outstanding Master of Architecture Student with One Further Year of Study, and the Department of Architecture Faculty Award for Design Excellence. His thesis “Screen Time" received Special Mention at The Media Architecture Biennial.
Upon graduation, Jeffrey was retained by M.I.T. as a Post Graduate Teaching Fellow. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Architecture.
